Run for the turtles, no matter where you are! Join The South Carolina Aquarium for their Virtual Turtle Trek! Whether you’re running through your neighborhood, in your local park or even on a treadmill, you can still show your support for sea turtles. ⁠ ⁠

Anyone, anywhere can participate! You choose your own route, your own starting time, and your own pace. Proceeds from the 5th annual Turtle Trek support the Sea Turtle Care Center™ and the Aquarium’s conservation initiatives.⁠ ⁠ Runners that register by September 3 will receive their t-shirt and medal/ribbon in the mail by October 3.

Worldwide, all seven species of sea turtles are listed as threatened or endangered, four of which are found locally. To help ensure that sea turtles have a future in our oceans, the South Carolina Aquarium Sea Turtle Care Center aids sick and injured sea turtles.⁠ ⁠

To date, they have rehabilitated and released more than 290 sea turtles back into their natural habitats. With your support, they can continue efforts to sustain these species into the next century and beyond.⁠
